  1. There are 2 versions contained on this disk.
  2.  
  3. WARNING: The files of both versions are named the same (Px.1). If you
  4. overwrite the files with the second version, the program won't work the
  5. same.
  6.  
  7. The different versions are contained in 2 separate zip files named
  8. HP2.ZIP and HP3.ZIP.  The main difference is because the HP-II
  9. cannot print white text on a black background. Instead, a substitute
  10. header of 20% grey screen with bold black letters has been created.

  12. Installation:
  13.  
  14. Install the files in your WP data directory, along with your other 
  15. document files or make a separate directory for all of your 171 data 
  16. (C:\WP51\171). Copy all of the files, but only one of the primary.1 sets 
  17. (as indicated below) for the printer you have.
  18.  
  19. You will activate the version you want to use by extracting the 
  20. files from either HP2 or HP3. These are compressed zip files and you 
  21. will need PKZip v1.10 or later. You will do this only once, to 
  22. extract the appropriate files into a directory on your hard drive... 
  23. You will use ONLY one of Px.1 these versions.

  25. (NOTE: For shareware evaluation, The HP-II set contains ONLY two
  26. pages. This is to allow an evaluation of how the package works and 
  27. what the print output looks like.  The HP-III version will print, on 
  28. a HP-II, but the bold black bar with white text won't.)

  30. HP2.ZIP- For printers that cannot print White text on a black background.
  31.          HP series II. NOTE: If you don't have a scalable font, you 
  32.          will need to change the 7pt style to actually print a 6 pt size.
  33.          You WILL need a proportionally spaced font, either cartridge 
  34.          or a downloadable soft font that is usable from Wordperfect. 
  35.          The built in fonts are not sufficient.
  36.  
  37. HP3.ZIP- For printers that CAN print white text on black background.
  38.          HP series III,  Cannon LBP-4, LBP-8. These printers have 
  39.          scaleable fonts built in, no additional fonts are needed.

  41. Two other sets of files you will want to extract are the test files 
  42. and the actual data files. These are called Test.ZIP and Datafile.
  43. ZIP. These are the same for both versions. Just copy the files into your 
  44. 171 data directory and use PKunzip to extract them
  45.  
  46. You will use these files to check the space allowed by your font for 
  47. text to be typed in each field and to customise your forms. When 
  48. everything is printing correctly, you may delete the test files but 
  49. retain all files that have the extension '.1 & .2 '.

  54. 1.18   There are NO versions 1.16 or 1.17. Versions 1.15, 1.14a,
  55.        1.14b and 1.14c were maintenance releases for registered users.
  56.        Those fixes are incorporated in this set of files. Versions 
  57.        1.14c and prior are obsolete and buggy, do not use them. 
  58.  
  59.        Some revisions are made in this set of files, for the shareware 
  60.        version only. Not all forms are complete and/or included. The 
  61.        intent of this version is to allow evaluation and promote 
  62.        registrations.
  63.        Reports have trickled in of widespread use and the few 
  64.        number of registrations has caused me to reconsider 
  65.        releasing a fully working package as uninhibited shareware.

  67.        This release has been changed to "Evaluationware"
  68.  
  69.        You can probabaly thank several unregistered users who have 
  70.        called asking for support and not even saying thank-you, the 
  71.        unregistered user who called at 3 am to ask for help, or 
  72.        the person who commented that all of his friends were using 
  73.        it, so why shouldn't he? The last straw was when a government 
  74.        employee who, while inquiring about a reduced cost site 
  75.        license, made the comment that if I didn't wish to meet their 
  76.        (skimpy) budget, they could "just download it off a BBS and 
  77.        use it for free".

  79.        The old saying ...    "No ticket, No laundry" now applys.

  81.        With this release, only those who register will 
  82.        recieve the complete package and extra forms and support.  
  83.  
  84.        I'm sorry I have to do it this way, but I, like other 
  85.        software authors, have to eat too and the price asked 
  86.        certinly isn't too much to pay for what you get.

  88.        A full revision history is included with registration.
  89.        along with the latest updates of following forms:

  91.         + All pages - removal of unregistered evaluation notices
  92.         + macro to strip comments from merge files.
  93.         + Both HP-II and HP-III versions. Except for two evaluation 
  94.           pages, the complete set of files has been striped 
  95.           from this version. This should be plenty for HP users to 
  96.           see what the printout will look like.
